A flight of our lives

Happy memories are made of these...

Its been 1 yr and 3 months since I came back from London. It was nice having the opportunity to catch up with Nico; my dutch classmate at the London School of Economics. He is here on vacation. Well, he decided to come after hearing me speak so much of Singapore.

Also, we had the ride of our lives aboard the 'Flyer', and I had the opportunity to introduce to him local delights such as 'Hokkien Mee' (Fried Prawn Noodles), 'Char Kuay Teow' (Fried Noodles in sweet sauce), as well as 'Or Luak' (Oyster Omelette) which he truly enjoyed (as you can see from the pictures)...and to top it off- a glass of cool and refreshing 'Chendol' (Coconut, brown sugar and iced-shavings topped with red beans) to stave off the humid weather.

Indeed, time is fleeting...soon, you will have to leave, till we meet again, yar? Good Luck my friend, at the World Debates 2008 at Oxford.

Hope to meet up with you and the bunch of Europeans from our days at the LSE, when I descend upon the continent in 2009.

Bon Voyage, may your flight home be a smooth one, my friend.

Signing off,
The idealist (for the World Bank)

Most beautiful.....

In Memorium: 1959-1997
A tribute to Bruddah IZ - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, a favorite son of Hawaii whose music brought joy to millions the world over.

Mahalo nui loa everyone....

In the midst of listening to this song, I got goose bumps and it really sets me thinking that in all my pursuit to meet targets and earn big money at work...have I forgotten that there is more to life than all that?

Indeed, life is beautiful, and I must allow myself time to enjoy its beauty and sanctity.

With life typically on the fast lane, it is always nice to take a backseat and watch the world go by.

I would love to visit Hawaii (life so carefree)...it is next stop wonderland, for me!

Enjoy the song and ponder over it...especially those of you who have been busily climbing the corporate ladder.

The Race. 280908

A race of a lifetime. I am glad I went for it. It is definitely much better watching the action unfold before my very eyes. If I am still in Singapore this time next year, I would not miss catching the action live, once again.

An evening at the race...

The bright lights beckon.

The carnival-like atmosphere coupled with the international crowd made for a very inviting experience. Our cosmopolitan cityscape came alive with all the F1 livery. I was glad to be part of the action.
