In God I trust.

US Dollars for my Vietnam trip.

The Vietnamese Dong is rare (well, at least here in Singapore). Therefore, I had to change to USD first, and subsequently change the US Dollars to Dong in Vietnam.

Departing tomorrow from Changi T1, 28 June at 7:45am.

On board.

The view was magnificent. Truly a sight worth savouring.

An Ode to Singapore: my home

Our city never sleeps
A riot of colours
Illuminate the darkness
Breathing life into corners

Could not contain the excitement
There was too much light
They come in various bands
Which fire up the imagination

On top of the world
Silence was the word of the moment
Savour the goodness
For it is fleeting and euphemeral

Never standing still
Always metamorphosising
Change is the buzzword
Not that I am complaining

Embrace we must
So that we can go forward
Progress we must
If we do not want to wilt

Proud am I
To call you home
For home is where the heart is
And this is where I belong

My city, my home.

Part one: Dining at the Flyer

Before boarding our flight (on the Flyer)...we grabbed a quick bite at 'Robert's Coffee', which sells some rather nice sandwiches!

We ordered a cold spicy crab sandwich and a chicken with feta sandwich.

Satisfying.

Materialist!

Industrial. Sleek. Quiet sophistication.

The devil is in the details.

I love it raw. G-Star Raw that is.

I am not the proud owner of this baby though...she belongs to my school mate.

The World's first night race.

Collected my Formula 1 tickets today.

Sleek packaging- similar to what I will encounter in September when the cars rev their engines and careen down Marina Bay!

It will be a sight to behold.

New Trainers.

There can only be one thing: run.

Looking forward to:
Marina Bay Run
Standard Chartered Marathon.

I have to start gradually and build up the momentum. It has been many months since I ran.

Comfort Food

House specialty: "Samsui Ginger Chicken"

Tender, succulent, fresh- with chicken skin that glistens; the dish taste as good as it looks!

The saucer of grinded ginger in the middle of the dish greatly complements the morsels of chicken. The lettuce serves as a 'wrap' in which chicken can be placed in, and eaten like a roll. Truly delectable and very comforting, indeed.

No wonder they always have me coming back for more...this is my second time to the Soup Restaurant this month.

Birds of a feather flock together

Where: Jurong Bird Park, Singapore

A riot of colours
Fleeting efferverscence
A mask of flora and fauna
Permeates the deep abscesses of my mind

Some sprinkling of dew
Refreshes the soul
Hardy bark provides respite
For aching heels

A colourful conversation
Children parroting nature's voices
Shrills awaken the senses
One that will be etched in memory

Eden on high
Bird's eye view
Green with envy
Rays shooting through the foilage

Ice and water over-runneth
Terns and Penguins cohabit
Sheer cold wind
Breaths of icy tingle

The sun on the western horizon
Transforms the sky an ashen tinge
Cool air rushes in
The revelry continues

Voices not contained at all
The laughter of the little ones
Jolts the soul
Brings out the kid in all

Good times, great memories
I love them all.

Free-spirited.

Where: Botanical Gardens, Cluny Road
What: Soccer and Cycling

Children are a bundle of joy. I was glad to be able to witness my nephews and niece at play. It was a fun-filled and enriching experience; as I played with them and learned about what makes them so special.
