Randall...the huggable =)

Randall is my nephew, he is 2 years and 3 months old. He is a bundle of joy, not to mention a great talker (just like me)... he speaks sensibly and is articulate. Here is my little tribute to baby Randall. And for all those of you out there (Winnie, Nori, Suci) who have been wanting to see him, there you go.... Enjoy!

You got to admit it, he is one cute little bundle of joy! Anyway, those images were taken when he was much younger...he has grown loads! You will find out in due time. :)

Its Breath-taking....

Location: Level 16; The Pod; The National Library Building, Bras Besah Road

The view from up there is magnificent.

Wings of a really gargantuan air-craft?

It feels like i am on board a space-craft; fly me to polaris?

The weather report:

The hazy condition has abated, thanks to the heavy downpour in recent times that, has offered us some respite. I am hoping for more rainy days ahead... i am beginning to appreciate the rainy days, as it brings with it fresher air, a clearer sky and better health for us all.

Cheers!

Out in Print!

The long awaited "Celebrating Libraries" book of which i am a featured contributer is finally out in print. Attended the book launch today with my mum; the event was held at the National Library Building. The whole event went seamlessly well. Got the opportunity to meet and chat with the guest of honour Senior Minister of State; Dr Balaji Sadasivan.

The coffee table book will be out in stores in Nov.

By the way; try spotting me...am somewhere on the front cover of the book.

Especially For you!

What do you think? Well, i am well pleased with what i bought...no, not for myself but as a birthday prezzie for one of my bestest girl pals at university.

Ivone!...Happy Birthday to you, yar?! Hope you like this present i got for you.

I am actually keeping my fingers crossed that you won't see this, yet!... hence, i strategically blog about it at this unearthly hour where i reckon u should be in slumberland by now, yar?...anyway, we did bid each other goodnite just now on MSN! So, its pretty safe to assume....

Anyway, I will pass you this prezzie later on at school after our Accounting lecture! Really appreciate the friendship that we share (close to 1 year now!)....knowing the good choices i make...we should in future go for retail therapy together, yar? And take lotsa pictures too...

Retail Therapy..

Things i bought while on retail therapy, nope
not clothes but readable items!!

Puchased this "Dictionary of Finance and Investment Terms" from Kino today while waiting for EuGene to arrive....

So pleased with this particular purchase....firstly, its reasonably priced...and it answers loads of financial related things that have bogged me down whenever i read investment books, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The Financial Times and the likes.... There u go....

And i got this from HMV.... well, am in the mood for Upper society gossip; Its the "British Tatler"... glossy spreads always do it for me and if you know me, i am a sucker for high society gatherings..haha ...need to unwind...can't always be reading my text books and The Economist!

And, isn't Mischa Barton such a cutie pie? She is sweet! And what an efferverscent smile to boot, yar?

Revival '06

Dear beloved...

I've revived my bloggie, yet again... Yes, its been a long while...but i guess, i just needed an outlet to verbalise my thoughts...so, there you go...

Lets see, its been 7 long months since i last blogged...feeling the itch i guess, hence, i am back here! Then again, plenty of things have happened since then, like my Yr 1 exams... my professional experience at IRAS for the second year running and of course starting year 2. The pace of life at this point has been heady to say the least....am leading a very dynamic student life at school, and have also found the time to fulfil my external pursuits like writing, amateur photography( Yes, i am participating in the Museumshop-Banyan Tree Photo Competition) and also attending functions (i.e; The Economic Society of Singapore Annual Dinner...where the who's who of the Economic & Financial World were present...yeah, SM Goh was honoured that night.)! I will be attending the Rolex Forum organised by SMU in 2 weeks time...there, i will get to hear from a panel of very accomplished individuals and perhaps asked a question or two during Q&A.

Yes, i have also written my way to getting my write-up published in a coffee table book by the National Library Board, the book launch is on 25th Oct...do grab hold of the chance to see my featured article in there...albeit a short article, but nonetheless; an achievement!...Last i heard, well, from the chief editor himself, the publications team whittled down 7000 entries to a mere 100 to be published! My mummy is going with me (She is proud of me, and i want to honour her)! And yes, Prof. Tommy Koh and Eunice Olsen will be there too...*winks*

Apart from the above-mentioned... i am involved in the Biz Club at my university...am in the committee in-charge of organising the Career Forum 2006...we are gonna invite BIG names like Microsoft, HSBC etc to come speak to our students...

Last but not the least...(hey, i am not being long winded here, yar?)...i am still a student, and trying to be a good one at that!...need to hit the books...

Things i hope to accomplish by the time the first quarter of 2007 comes around :

  • To produce an essay for the MAS-Economic Society of Singapore Essay competition.
  • To pick up German!...need it in the future, if i so decide to work with the United Nations; a third language is a must! My French needs some brushing up at the moment...(Gene; u know what to do, yar?)

I think for now that will do, and of course i am making the effort to save up for Summer School 2007......whoever wants to bunk with me, please book ur slot, the hall i will be staying at can accomodate one paying guest!:) Actually, there is a waiting list already...but its only tentative:) I have 3 peeps on the list for now...you guys better start saving too!
