A healthy shade of pink
Just returned from camp, well, slightly more than an hour ago. Today, is supposed to be my off day, but received a call yesterday from my camp mate. I was informed to book in last night, as today is the healthy lifestyle day. And everyone on off actually had to return to camp last night to participate in this morning's activities. Thankfully, it was a morning only event. The program was a simple one. We had a run first thing in the morning, it was dubbed a 'fun run' and was for 3 kilometres. After the run, there was a newly invented game (well, new to me..yar) called two-ball soccer. As usual, like any conventional game of soccer, there were two teams on either side of the field. However, the uniqueness of the game was that it had two soccer balls at any one time being kicked around. The objective like any soccer game, was to get a ball into the opposing team's goal post, in this case, two balls. Once a ball gets into the goal post, a goal is registered. As for the finer, more technical element of the game; please get someone else to describe...yar? I am not a soccer person.
After the game, we were tasked with dismantling and keeping the tents that were used to house the health screening booth, the healthy-food stall, archery stall among other things. My platoon felt it was unfair, as the workload was unfairly distributed, hence, we ended up keeping most of the stores. Bleah... ;p
On the lighter side, the highlight of today's healthy lifestyle day would definitely be the health screening (at least for me) that we were made to attend. The free screening was provided by the kind people of NKF. The general sentiment amongst my contemporaries was one of reluctance. However, i was glad i went for it. It was good that my CSM actually made us go for it. Otherwise, i would not have taken the initiative, even though i have always been pretty health concious.

And now... the results on my health report card...
Body Mass Index : 21.0 (Normal weight)
Waist Hip Ratio : 0.82 (Male < 1.0)
Body Fat Analysis : 15.0% (Male < 20%)
Blood Pressure : Systolic: 128 mmHg / Diastolic: 77 mmHg
Basically, the above-mentioned items were what the NKF personnel tested. Overall, i was told that i'm healthy and in order to maintain my current level of health, i should continue to exercise regularly and eat healthly. Yes, its as simple as that!

What is blood pressure?
Blood pressure (BP) is the force that is exerted on the blood vessels and heart by the blood. It has two components:
- Systolic pressure (higher count)- is the maximum pressure in the arteries when the heart is actively pumping.
- Diastolic pressure (lower count)- is the minimum pressure when the heart is resting between beats.
