The City never sleeps...

A montage of lights and colour... Posted by Hello

On sunday nite...took this pic in my dad's car on our way back home from shopping at Suntec City. This picture actually has the 'Lau Pa Sat' food centre in the background, above it looms the skyscrapers of the CBD. There were many fast moving vehicles on the road that give rise to this illuminating effect.

I have not already taken any picture on the Christmas light-up at Orchard road(still have another week plus, before they take down the lighting). I guess this could be a pretty reasonable substitute of sorts. As it is, the picture turned out better than i had imagined it to be. The bright lights have a beckoning effect. I was attracted to the sheer moment of intense illumination of city lights, just like moths are attracted to light. Hence, i felt compelled to whip out my camera to snap this memorable moment in time.

From this picture, a sense of nostalgia overcame me. It reminded me of how much of a progressive change did Singapore undergo and how it continues to progress at full throttle(with all things being equal). This progress is an endless continuum which time and space will dictate, how much of an extent and to what type of an extent in which will Singapore metamorphorsise. There is much latent potential for change, not just in the architectural landscape- tangible, but also the intangible aspects; such as mindset, social and cultural norms.
